    Pint 'N Print: Stencil Monotype

    with Christian Wechgelaer

    Come enjoy a fun evening where you can try out printmaking! This class we will be making stencil monotypes. Monotypes are a unique print, making one impression instead of multiple. We will use plexiglass plates to create images with paper stencils, then run the plates through a printing press. You will be guided through each step and the process!

    BYOB! Feel free to bring a drink of your choosing to the class.

Screenprinting is the process of pushing ink through mesh to transfer your design. We will use paper stencils and screenfiller to create our designs.

    Intermediate Woodcut Relief Printmaking

    taught by Colleen Cox

    Woodcut is the oldest form of relief printmaking. In this 3 session class, you will learn the steps of creating a woodcut, including transferring an image to a block, various approaches to carving, and producing a series of prints. By the end of the class you'll have the skills and knowledge to know what materials to buy, how to print, and carve, so you can continue creating on your own.

    You will have the option to advance your skills by working at a larger scale of 9 x 12 inches or making a multi-color image with multiple blocks at 4 x 6 inches.

    All materials and tools will be provided for the class. 

    After taking a printmaking class, you have the opportunity to sign up for open studio time to work on your own projects!

    3 session class, Saturday, February 21, 28, and March 7, 2026 10:00 AM-1:00 PM

    Origami Monotype

    taught by Kathy Klompas


    In this 3 session class, you will learn the process of monotype, how to mix transparent inks, how to use the printing press, register multiple plates, and layering. A great class for all levels. You will have a variety of plexiglass plate sizes up to 12 x 16 inches to choose from. 

    Session 1
    Origami Monotype: Basic Skills

    Learn the fundamentals of working with printmaking ink and using a press.  Mix transparent inks, use a brayer to apply ink to a printing plate, register multiple plates, understand how layers of ink reveal new colors on the surface of the print. 

    Session 2
    Explore and Experiment

    In this session we will freely play to expand our vocabulary of monotype tools, and explore the potential of ghost prints and multi-layered prints.

    Session 3
    Finishing Touches

    In this class we will discuss options together and work independently to bring completion to our vision.  

    3 sessions, Wednesday, March 11th, 18th, and 25th 1:00-4:00 PM

    Drawing to Print: Copper Plate Drypoint Etching

    taught by Colleen Cox

    In the class, you will learn about working with a copper plate to translate your drawings into a printable matrix. We will be using the technique drypoint, which is where you draw directly onto a plate using an etching needle. We will cover how to polish your plate, bevel your edges, draw onto copper, and use the printing press. You will be guided through each step of the printing process and leave with a few prints of your image!

    This is a great introductory class for those interested in pursuing other etching techniques using copper.

    All materials and tools will be provided for the class.  

    After taking a printmaking class, you have the opportunity to sign up for open studio time to work on your own projects!

    2 session class, Saturday, April 11 and 18, 2026 10:00 AM-1:00 PM

    $95 member/$110 non-member
