Saratoga Arts Mini Grants


Now Accepting Applications for 2021 Mini Grants!

Saratoga Arts is thrilled to announce an additional opportunity to fund Community Arts Projects in Fulton, Montgomery and Saratoga counties that will be delivered (in-person or virtually) between June 15 and December 31, 2021. Eligible projects can receive between $500 and $1,000 in funding.

Who can apply?

  • 501(c)(3) or New York State non-profit organizations with an active board of trustees either incorporated in our service area (Fulton, Montgomery or Saratoga county) or registered to do business in our service area.
  • A local government entity or tribal organization
  • Individual artists, groups or unincorporated entities must apply through a Fiscal Sponsor who falls into one of the categories above.
  • NOTE: There is an eligibility questionnaire at the beginning of each application for clarity.

Who is ineligible?

  • NYS agencies
  • Public schools, universities and colleges
  • Private or Parochial schools
  • Previous recipients of grants through Saratoga Arts who violated contracts or did not complete required reports.
  • Direct NYSCA applicants (regardless of application status or outcome)
  • Some organizations that received funding in this years Community Arts Grant cycle. (Total funding between Community Arts and Mini Grants cannot total more than $5,000 in a fiscal year)
  • NOTE: There is an eligibility questionnaire at the beginning of each application for clarity.

Funding Policy

  • The minimum request per application is $500
  • The maximum request per application is $1,000
  • An applicant can submit a maximum of 2 applications totaling $1,000
  • All projects must take place between June 15 and December 31, 2021
  • Funding may be released as late as June 30, 2021

Application Process

  • May 28, 2021: Application Deadline
  • Early June 2021: Panel of community members meet and discuss the applications and recommend funding levels for each application.
  • June 14, 2021: Applicants are notified of funding decisions
  • June 30, 2021: Deadline for Saratoga Arts to release funding (will be distributed earlier whenever possible)

What do I need to apply?

The following will be attached to your application: 
  • A copy of organizations financial statement:
        • Non-Profits: Most recently completed Financial Statement (in most cases, the last fiscal year)
        • Municipalities: Analysis of Changes in Fund Equity for the general fund & General Fund expenditure for Culture and Recreation (discuss equivalent substitute documents with grant coordinator prior to submitting application)
  • Proof of not-for-profit status
  • List of Board of Directors (Name, Telephone Numbers, Officer Titles, Committees [if applicable])
  • Resume(s) for listed artistic personnel
  • Budget form
  • Artistic Work samples
