with Ann Larsen

The workshop is designed to demystify color and value for the painter. Demonstrations and examples of how color is used to create depth, light and mood in paintings will be presented.

Exercises in paint mixing will be utilized to aid the students in creating paintings from a still life motif.  Working from life is a big key in developing a color sense.

Subjects covered will be value, the use of grays to harmonize color, what is meant by tonality, warm and cool relationships and much more.

Hopefully students will have a much better understanding of how to use color to their advantage at the end of this workshop.  This will be a fun and informative workshop!
