KIDS ART PROGRAM |
We offer kids programming over February and April school breaks and for 9 weeks of summer. Dates for programming this year are February 16th-20th, 2026, April 6th-10th, 2026, and June 29th-August 28th, 2026. | CURRICULUM Our Kids Art Program has a Choice-Based/TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) art making approach that emphasizes YOU ARE THE ARTIST! Have fun experimenting with various materials and techniques to create art inspired by your ideas, life experiences and passions. It will be your choice of subject, materials, timeframe and workflow. Explore 2D art (drawing, painting, collage, printmaking), 3D art (mixed media, sculpture, clay, fiber arts), and digital art (photography, digital drawing, animation on personal devices) Emphasis on the Artistic Process: Idea, Plan, Create and Reflect using the 8 Studio Habits of Mind which will help you grow as an artist through the daily use of sketchbooks, written artist statements, titles, framing and a portfolio. The TAB philosophy is the belief that the "child is the artist, the classroom is their studio, and explores the question: what do artists do?" All materials and tools will be provided for the program including a sketchbook and portfolio. |
