Visual Art Camps for Kids and specialized Teen Workshops are offered all 9 weeks of Summer in July and August. As well as 1 week camps during school breaks in February and April. 

Why Art Camp at Saratoga Arts?

COLLABORATION 

  • Having fun with art campers of all ages and Apple Blossom Bunch: Prek in the Park through peer art shows, critiques, and group art making.

CURRICULUM 

  • Emphasis on artistic voice and choice, play, explore, process, and experiment with TAB   (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) teaching methods.
  • 2D (drawing, painting, collage, printmaking), 3D (mixed media, sculpture, clay, fiber arts, fashion) and digital art (on personal devices: photography, digital drawing, animation).

ABOUT

The Choice-Based/TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) art making approach emphasizes that YOUR CHILD IS THE ARTIST! They'll have fun experimenting with various materials and techniques to create art inspired by their ideas, life experiences and passions.

Full Day 8:30am-4:00pm

The Innovation Center's Roller Coaster Camp

July 8th – July 12th

Ages 12-15


ABOUT

In association with Clarkson University and Saratoga Arts, The Innovation Center at Saratoga, Inc., is presenting an opportunity for middle and early high school students to experience the creation of a roller coaster and theme park. Working in small teams, students will learn the science behind roller coasters and then use Roblox to create their dream coaster as part of a theme park.

Registration includes:

  • 4 days of in-class exploration using physics, math, and computers
  • Incorporation of artistic components as students learn to theme their coasters and theme parks
  • 1 all-expenses paid day (including food and camp t-shirt) at The Great Escape

ART CAMP & WORKSHOP REMINDERS

Be kind and respectful to peers, teachers, staff, materials, art studios, and nature.
Bring a water bottle or two each day. Saratoga Arts doesn't have water foundations to refill bottles. 
Half Day & Teen Workshops-Bring a snack that's tree nut & peanut free.
Full Day-Bring 2 snacks and a lunch that's tree nut & peanut free.

Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Sunscreen and hats for being outdoors in the summer.

Bring reusable bags and/or cardboard boxes to the Art Show each week to take home sculptures. 

Personal devices (cell phones, tablets and/or headphones) are permitted for the following only: digital art making, visual photo/video references, research, to listen to music during studio time. They're to be put away during teacher instruction, lunch/ snack breaks to socialize with peers and enjoy the outdoors.
