    Mindful Beading

    taught by Arlin Zephyr Will

Beads have held special meaning across cultures for centuries, serving as tools for meditation and prayer, keeping count, marking milestones, and simply providing a calming, tactile focus for the mind.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll explore the rich history and symbolism of beads while creating your own beautiful set of glass beads. Whether you choose to use them for meditation, mindfulness, or as a unique personal keepsake, you'll leave with a meaningful handmade creation that reflects your own style and intention.

    About the Instructor

I work with glass and stone beads to create nontraditional rosaries, meditation beads, fidgets, and memory aids, and I strongly believe in finding ways to bring beauty and ritual to everyday life. I have worked as a teacher, educational program coordinator, and multimedia communicator, and have professional experience in the performing arts. I have been an educator and an artist in parallel for most of my life, and I am excited to now be merging those two passions. I am new to the Capital Region (formerly of North Carolina) and loving it here.

    Mosaic Suncatcher

    taught by Linda Biggers

Capture the beauty of light and color as you create a one-of-a-kind mosaic sun catcher. In this two-day class, you'll discover the timeless art of glass mosaic while transforming pieces of colorful glass into a luminous work of art that will brighten any window.

Day One (3 hours): Learn the essentials of glass cutting and safe handling through a guided demostration, followed by instruction on adhering glass to glass. Draw inspiration from provided patterns or create your own original design.

Day Two (2 hours): Return to grout, clean and finish your completed sun catcher. You'll add a hanger so your finished piece is ready to display and catch the light.

This class is perfect for beginners as well as those with some mosaic experience. All materials provided.
