Artist Statement  

S. Monahan has been painting professionally for over 35 years with an emphasis on equine art. She has been featured in various equine publications and has displayed her work at horse shows, venues in the Capital District and juried exhibitions. Her portfolio includes multiple commissioned works of horses, dogs and people.

Being a horsewoman and dog lover all her life, her knowledge of the animal comes through in her attention to detail, capturing the essence and spirit of her subjects. She also seeks to capture the beauty of her local Rensselaer County in a series of landscapes.
