Artist Statement

Portrait Art confines itself to a love affair with each new piece of art. As a photographer I have to enjoy and like working with the model. Here are such beautiful young women. Siying was photographed over a period of 2 hours by chance. She stepped into an art gallery that I was volunteering at. I ended up photographing her over a period of 2 hours and later gave her a ride to a department store she wanted to shop at for souvenirs for her loved ones back home in China.

Zoe was a professional model that I photographed over 25 times within a period of 2 years in every season of the year.

Darian is my current model, and she has been photographed for 3 sessions during the cold weather. I hope to work with her again soon. My technique involves portable off camera flash with subdued lighting both indoors and outdoors. Additionally, I use old film cameras and hope for the best each time. The old cameras are manual operation and require the most attention to details. The photographs on display are all digital photographs using Photoshop techniques. My portraits are not to be confused with AI, which does not use cameras or models. My models are real people. I hope you like the photographs.
