Artist Statement 

Janet Cooke is a nationally exhibited landscape oil painter based in the Albany, NY area. Janet studied drawing and painting at the Arts Center of the Capital Region and the Ilium Atelier in Troy, NY. Inspired by beauty, tranquility, and serenity, Janet paints in an impressionistic and expressive style that evokes strong emotion through color and composition. Janet is a Signature Member of the National Association of Women Artists and a member of the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, and the National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society. Her art has been shown at various galleries in the Capital Region, including the Hyde Collection, the Lapham Gallery, and Albany Center Gallery as well as The National Arts Club in New York City and the Sasse Museum in California.
