Artist Statement

Botanical subjects interest me because I love observing plants as they grow and flower and fruit and die. I spend a lot of time outdoors walking around, looking at whatever’s out there, from familiar garden flowers, vegetables and weeds to shrubs, trees, mushrooms, etc.

This group of drawings features things that were happening in Fall 2026 that reflect the vivid colors and deepening darkness of this time of year. All drawings were produced by hand from life; no AI in any form was used.
