with Ann Larsen.                                                                                                                        Students will each bring one item from home to incorporate into a still life set up.   If the item can fit in an 12x12x12 square then bring it!!  Emphasis will be placed on how to arrange a group of objects in order to compose a strong painting. Day one will focus on composing the painting, color harmony and the use of correct values to finish 2 or 3 working studies that will aid in the block-in of their composition on Day 2.  We will work intuitively and quickly!  This will be a lively and fun workshop hopefully helping students see beyond the obvious.  Day two will be spent using the studies as guides to mixing color and using brush and palette knife to achieve an impressionistic application of paint as students work to complete their paintings.

Students should leave the workshop with a nearly frame-ready painting!

Medium:  Oil is preferred, but acrylic, pastel, and watercolor welcome
