with Kathy Klompas Gelli Plate printing with professional Akuakolor printmaking inks and archival papers allows for fine details, transparent layering of colors, and subtle ghost prints that are not possible with acrylic paints. With plenty of working time on the plate , slow down and develop your image without rushing. Stencils cut from magazine pages are sturdy enough for these inks, dried leaves will print in rich detail. There will be enough pigment left on the plate to print a second, more subtle, ghost print.
Golden Open Acrylics are also excellent for pulling rich detailed prints, so if you like bring some along. Instructor will supply papers, inks, gel plates, and tools. Students may want to bring scissors, rubber stamps, textures , interesting papers to print on such as old book pages. Inks may stain fingers, so consider gloves. A $20 material fee is due to the instructor at the start of class.
