My paintings evoke the sensation of being in nature and experiencing its enigmas and curious qualities. Through abstraction, I translate my perceptions to a painterly form, drawing from my own interaction with various landscapes. With encaustic, I add a further dimension through surface quality and texture. I explore how this tangible natural element manifests through surfaces that bubble, glisten, and ripple. Through these works, I suggest the feeling of a non-specific or imaginary place.
