As an abstract painter, Kristine is interested in color, line and shape. With her background in environmental conservation, she focuses on the natural world. Using her imagination Kristine paints to reflect events, emotions, and landscapes. Her Water Cycles series evokes the beauty and importance of water for our planet and our lives. Each painting in this collection represents a specific aspect of our relationship to water, whether it is a day at the beach or reflections seen in a pond. Starting out with various collage pieces, Kristine develops each painting by layering acrylic paints, oil pastels, pencil, and oil crayons to create an expression of water. All of these paints were completed this summer.
Kristine’s exhibit would have been on display at Brookside Museum in Ballston Spa, NY for the month of September. Due to Covid-19 concerns, Brookside Museum will not be open to the public for the time being. Please enjoy this virtual adaptation of her exhibit.
