Art is basically a form of investigation. We are constantly having conversations with ourselves, trying to resolve unanswerable questions.
How can we know our selves? Is there meaning to our existences or not? How do you find personal meaning? How do we experience our existence?
My work explores issues of identity, the nature of the human species, how we experience reality and the meaning and meaningless of human existence. The challenge of our preconceptions, the faulty nature our senses play in imagining our world and how those preconceptions are shaped by cultural imperatives and the tensions of our emotional vs the rational selves.
My art is successful if it makes you think and challenges your existing ideas.
