Pint N' Print

Saturday, April 27th 6:00-8:00 PM

with Ally DeRusso

Come enjoy a fun evening where you can try out printmaking! This event is an informal activity where you will learn how to carve and print a block print! What is a block print? Block prints or linocuts are a type of relief printmaking. Using carving tools you cut away the linoleum to create your design, what is carved away will be white and the remaining areas will be inked! A brayer is used to roll ink onto the block and can be printed by hand or with a printing press. Saratoga Arts will be supplying beverages, supported by Nine Pin and Walt Whitman Brewery, as well as non-alcoholic beverages.

Must be 21+ to register.

$32 member/$40 non-member

Improv Spaces at Saratoga Arts

Open Office Hours

Tuesday, May 7th 5:00-7:00 PM

Location: Saratoga Arts, 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866
Entrance: Broadway Side Door. When facing the Main Gallery Entrance on the corner of Broadway, the side door entrance is to your right.

IMPROV SPACES will be in residence at Saratoga Arts beginning January 2024!

As a part of their residency, the nonprofit organization will be hosting "Open Office Hours" with Saratoga Arts — a weekly evening program on Tuesday from 5-7pm — with musicians and artists involved in improvisation and interdisciplinary improvisation including with music, performance, poetry, and visual arts. The open workshop/session-like atmosphere is meant to welcome artists to come together in an open jam format and to network and form collaborations together.

Are you a composer with a framework for improvisation that you want to test out? Do you want to meet potential collaborators for a piece or band? Do you want to explore interdisciplinary practice or something new? Open Office Hours are here for you to explore and free to join.

IMPROV SPACES hopes that the Open Office Hours at Saratoga Arts can help to build a community of interdisciplinary collaborators and serve as a hub in the region and provide resources for new music that introduces the practice of interdisciplinary improvisation to the general public.
