Introduction to Plein Air: Year-round Landscape drawing and painting

Discover the joy of creating art inspired by the landscape in this twelve-week plein air painting and sketching course. Students will work both outdoors and in the studio, using direct observation whenever weather permits and high-quality reference photographs or field sketches when indoor instruction is necessary. This flexible format ensures a productive and enjoyable experience throughout the course while exposing artists to a variety of artistic approaches.
Working with watercolor, colored pencil, markers, and acrylic paint, students will learn to capture light, atmosphere, color, and the character of the landscape through demonstrations, guided exercises, and individualized instruction. Whether new to landscape art or looking to expand existing skills, participants will build confidence while exploring multiple media and developing their own creative style.
