All of my life I have marveled at the beauty of a sailing ship. When I doodled in school it was always of what I envisioned as various sailboats. Through the years historic ships, boat models, maritime books, sailing and maritime art have become part of my life. Through a series of fortunate events I have spent thousands of hours on sailing and motor yachts as captain.
My love of the sailing ship has evolved to capturing the beauty on canvas.
My art depicts ships of a historic nature involved in maritime trade, battles, racing, and pleasure. I use cooler coloring and primal painting techniques to maintain the kinetic character of the subject, it’s place in history, and further preserve the beauty and charm of the sailing ship.
I was selected for the National Society Of Marine Artists juried invitational marine exhibit at the Lyme Art Gallery held in conjunction with their 17th Annual Conference.
Bob’s exhibit is also open to in-person viewing at Saratoga Arts! His artwork is on display in The Members’ Hall Gallery at Saratoga Arts! 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY, open 10am-3pm Tuesday-Friday.
