Sharon Miller, Art in Public Places

Saratoga Springs Train Station, August 3 - September 27, 2021

Sanford Horse Barns & More

My name is Sharon Miller and I was born and raised in Amsterdam, NY. I now reside in Galway, NY in Saratoga County. This is my Sanford/Hurricana Thoroughbred Horse Farm Series.

The Sanfords of Amsterdam NY breed an entire legacy of great thoroughbreds that began in the 1870’s at the Hurricana horse farm. This farm was an important contributor to the early days of the Saratoga Racetrack. One can read about and or tour the remaining barns on route 30 in Amsterdam, NY near Price Chopper and Walgreens. A great destination for racing fans and historians!

The smaller barn I have painted always catches my eye when riding by. There are several other barns as well; large and small: The larger being restored to its former glory has pictures and mementos from yesteryear.

My new studio and gallery is in the process of being finished in Galway, NY. It is called Salt Hill Studio. I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of these barns.

Miller's paintings are on view at Saratoga Springs Train Station at 26 Station Lane, August 3 - September 27, Monday-Friday, 8am-7pm.
