Royal Brown, Art in Public Places
Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library September 28 - October 25, 2021
My name is Royal Guy Brown jr. I am a licensed clinical social worker, a Mystic, Shaman, and an artist. I am all these things, but I am a healer first and foremost. It is my spiritual connection shows through my art. I created a mystical and living alphabet, used them to offer the Messages, tablets that can be translated. I paint ancestral images and build starships from discarded household objects. This is why I'm here; these are the messages that flow through me, and these are the beings that speak.
I consider my art as the by-product of a lifelong spiritual path. The title of my is Messengers and Messages. It is the expression of the essence of one who is touch with beings from other dimensions. They are represented as the Angelic Star Dragons. Made out of household garbage, they are a cultural metaphor expressing that what we throw away is what is of the greatest value. Much like the Asian, Native American and African knowledge that has been tossed aside, by a Western cultural construct. A sickness My art seeks to heal.
Brown's exhibition is up for public viewing September 28 - October 25 at Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library, 475 Moe Rd, Clifton Park, NY.
