Artist Statement
I love and do classic graphic design.
My art expression is all about simplifying.
I started with graphic design when I was twelve making and selling custom work to friends and schoolmates, such as logos, posters, ex libris,...
Around the age of 25 quarter life crisis hit me and my comic alter ego Captain Mačička [:matchitchka:], the detective cat, was born and has been following me ever since. He helped me to flesh out his whole universe of friends, lovers, clients, enemies or simple bystanders, made of other animals and everyday objects: sharp in lines and in thoughts, witty and dark in humor.
In 2016 started side passion project of designing and making custom longboards from reclaimed wood (RYS Ride Your Story).
I’m trying to introduce a similar approach to my clients when helping them with their custom design. Simplify to the core, to the most basic line and send out strong message!!!
I’m forging my life and art experience with boundless child-like imagination. I’m fascinated by children and their take on expressing their ideas and thoughts. They are my favorite clients. They give me the biggest challenges every time, yet leave me with freedom to express their ideas and I always receive the most honest feedback.
For my work I use my favorite motto from commissar Clouseau from the movie “Pink panther”: “It’s a challenge! And I accept it!”
