 Artist Statement:

I have been asked, “What inspires you to paint?” The simple answer is that I paint what captures my curiosity enough to imagine how to translate the vision to canvas.

Once a subject takes hold I become totally absorbed. Even when I am not actually working on the painting it is always in my thoughts-what to add, what to change, when to start over? Does the painting stimulate emotion, is there movement, will it offer something to the viewer?

Currently I am working in acrylic exploring abstract and impressionism. I do hope to return to oils in the near future. Painting is a journey that inspires me to explore and evolve.
