Artist Statement

My paintings include landscapes, cityscapes and portraits of children and young adults. I enjoy traveling and have been to locations in Europe, Asia, Canada and across the United States. People from varied cultures and their styles of architecture have always fascinated me. Most recently I have been especially interested in painting children in their everyday settings.

I want to show my audience structures in various settings that, if given the chance to be there, they may have overlooked   Oftentimes I also strive for an unexpected shift in color scheme and lighting.  It is truly delightful for me to discover delicate color blends. Then I can use these to contrast the different features in my portrayals of various people and locations.
