Live Model-Open Studio Session (14 Sep 2026)

Open Studio Sessions do not have a teacher and are meant to be an informal, community session where artists are free to talk about their work, share ideas, and discuss a variety of methods and media. These sessions are great practice for any artist interested in working from a live model* without the formality of a class. All skill levels are welcome.

Participants are encouraged to work in a medium of their choice, but must bring their own supplies. Our monitor will set up, lead the group, time poses, and control lighting. A brief peer critique will end each session.

We encourage participants to pre-register online, but drop-ins are welcome. All sessions are "pay what you can" and any donations are kindly accepted.

Split into two sessions, this class will teach students how to combine drawing ink and watercolor into one art piece. This class will teach the fundamentals of each medium, and how to combine the two. Students are encouraged to experiment with subject matter regarding these two mediums. All materials will be provided.

Bennett Kimble-Lee is an Illustrator based out of Saratoga Springs, New York. His work mixes bold, bright colors with lighthearted subject matter. Bennett recently graduated from Lesley Art + Design and is happy to be back home. His most recent works revolve around animals, with a focus on recognizable designs and eye-catching colors. From stationeries to clothing, a good pattern brightens up and adds personality. Broken up into two sessions, this class will go through what makes an appealing design, and how you can apply your interests and likes to create a personalized series of patterns. We will be going over making seamless repeating patterns, tessellations, and how we can combine the two. Students are welcome to bring their own supplies, acrylic markers and colored pencils will be provided.

Color can be a daunting thing, there’s always the question of if you’re using to much or too little. By limiting your color pallet to 3-5 base colors, your work looks more cohesive and has more harmony.

Students are encouraged to bring their own ideas for an artwork to class. This class is meant for beginners. We will go over basic color theory, what colors to choose, and how they work well together.
