![]() | Indigo Tie Dying taught by Kathy Klompas Shibori is a Japanese tie-dye technique dating back to the 8th century; the uneven lines created by this method are a visual representation of the Japanese belief in the beauty of imperfection. You will learn how to clamp and tie your fabric to create unique patterns with indigo dye. Make the perfect holiday gift! Bring your own cloth items (up to 7 items made of natural fabric-cotton, linen, silk, pre-washed) such as a t-shirt apron, kitchen napkins or towels, etc. to dye. Improv Workshop taught by Olivia Walton Improvisation is, in the words of Viola Spolin, "the art of being unprepared." In this workshop, you will explore and more fully establish your own improv practice. The teachings of mindfulness, positivity, and storytelling can be applied both on and off the stage. This class seeks to improv(e) the way we see the world around us and addresses ways we can apply our perspectives to the theatre and beyond. Warm ups in the first half will nurture your mindfulness practice and ensemble awareness. We will focus on scene and character work in the second half. Open to all experience levels. Felted Painting taught by Mallory Zondag Create your own textile painting using the ancient art form of wet felting and the fun and therapeutic art of needle felting!
