with Kathy Klompas

Students will experiment with several different techniques such as gelli plate printing, painting and stamping to build up pattern and layer colors on fabric. Learn how thickened fiber reactive dyes bond to fabric and how it differs from paint. Students will create their own one-of-a-kind vibrantly colored fabrics. A material fee of $15 is due to the instructor at the beginning of class. This fee covers all necessary materials and tools and includes a sample of cotton fabric, a silk scarf blank, and a tote bag. Students are encouraged to bring their own plastic bags for carrying projects home, newspaper, and a couple pairs of rubber gloves. Foam stamps are optional for those who wish to bring their own.
