Special Events- HORSES, SARATOGA STYLE!
The Saratoga County Arts Council is bringing back one of our most beloved public art projects! During the summer
and fall of 2002, the Saratoga County Arts Council and the YMCA of Saratoga presented Horses, Saratoga Style, a whimsical
and unique outdoor sculpture exhibit featuring 24 fiberglass horses transformed
through the creative artistry of 34 visual artists, working singularly,
in pairs and, in one case, through collaboration with 11 artists. These
magnificent sculptures were vibrantly brought to life to tell a story
or awaken memories of a unique place or time. Horses, Saratoga Style was
on public display in Saratoga Springs from June through October 2002.
Horses, Saratoga Style, 2007 features 34 uniquely designed and executed creations by artists
from the Capital Region, Western New York, Vermont, and
Massachusetts. We are extremely grateful to the businesses and
individuals who are sponsoring the horses and helping make Horses, Saratoga Style a fantastic public art event for the Saratoga region.
Printed maps of the horses' locations are available at The Arts Center, the Visitors Center, many hotels, and elsewhere in Saratoga Springs and Schuylerville, or you can download one by clicking here.
Larry Greenberg of Empire State College has created an interactive web-based map of all the horses' locations. Click here to go to that.
T-Shirts, calendars, and postcards are available at The Arts Center and select stores; posters will be here before track season opens!
