Beekman Artists Studios
CALL FOR ARTISTS The Beekman Artists Studios and the Arts District on Beekman are calling for visual artists, musicians, performance artists and writers to sign up for our new summer event, ARTISTS ON THE STREET. Every Saturday, from July 11 to September 12, artists will set up in various venues along the 4 block arts district and perform, show and sell their work. Porches are available for rainy nights. The Arts District is a quaint and exciting area in Saratoga Springs that supports all regional arts and artists. It is a place “up close and personal”. Visitors to our street take the time to talk and get to know artists that appear here. Our goal is to make the arts viable and available to all in a strolling and family friendly environment. Artists on the Street can set up between 12pm and 8pm. To sign up and to find out more information, email Amejo Amyot at www.amejo51@gmail.com  and visit our website at www.beekmanartistscoop.com  .

M&T Bank Clothesline Festival
ARTISTS WANTED FOR M&T BANK CLOTHESLINE FESTIVAL Long-Running Fine Art and Crafts Festival Celebrates 54th Anniversary Applications are now being accepted for the M&T Bank Clothesline Festival, a juried fine art and crafts festival held on the grounds of the Memorial Art Gallery. The long-running event, which this year takes place on Saturday and Sunday, September 11 and 12, showcases artists from a 53-county region of New York state. Artists living in all counties of New York EXCEPT Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk and Westchester are eligible to apply. The application deadline is Friday, March 26, with space assignments mailed June 10. If spaces remain, updates will be posted at  . HOW TO APPLY A downloadable application with instructions for submitting images is available at  . For more information call the Memorial Art Gallery events office at 585-276-8950, or email  . NOT YOUR MOTHER'S CLOTHESLINE Fifty-four years after the first Clothesline, Rochester's largest and longest-running fine art and crafts festival continues to evolve. It's now the place to experience all-day live entertainment, sample food from some of Rochester’s favorite vendors, enjoy free family art activities, visit the museum, and of course, browse and buy original artwork throughout the grounds. Each year sees the addition of more festivals, but Clothesline remains a favorite with artists. Because the Gallery charges admission and screens the work of the exhibitors, serious shoppers are more in evidence than at other festivals. Clothesline remains popular with visitors, too. In recent years, it has earned four "Best Art Show" awards from readers of Rochester's City Newspaper. ABOUT THE MEMORIAL ART GALLERY The Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester is considered one of the finest regional art museums in the country. Its permanent collection of 11,000 works spans 50 centuries of world art and includes important works by Monet, Cezanne, Matisse, Homer and Cassatt. Clothesline is the largest fund-raiser for the Gallery, which is supported primarily by its membership, with additional support from endowment, earned income, the University of Rochester, and public funds from Monroe County and the New York State Council on the Arts.
