First Night Saratoga would not be possible without the help of 150+ volunteers who help with nearly every aspect of the event.  Volunteers help check buttons, direct traffic for the First Night 5K, help manage capacity at our venues, and sometimes even introduce artists.

If you are interested in volunteering for First Night Saratoga (you get a free First Night Button!), please contact Mary Henninger, First Night Volunteer Coordinator, at 518-584-4132 or email

Saratoga Arts is always looking for volunteers to help with not only First Night but also with all of the other programs we offer.  We are currently looking for volunteers:

1. To work at the front desk (2-hour shifts at your convenience)
2. To assist with mailings (2-hour shifts, periodically throughout the year)
3. To help with special events
4.  To help install artwork.

If you would like to learn more about volunteer opportunities - give us a call!  518-584-4132.

What is First Night Saratoga?

One of the oldest and largest celebrations of its kind in the country:

  • 15,000+ revelers;
  • The 5k roadrace at Skidmore College;
  • 30 venues throughout Historic Downtown Saratoga Springs;
  • 70+ regional and touring acts performing live music, dance, comedy and magic from 6pm to midnight!

The most affordable, accessible, safe and exciting all-ages New Year's Eve event in the region:

  • 9,000 admission buttons priced at $20 and under;
  • Kids 12 and under are admitted for free;
  • All venues are alcohol-free;
  • Free CDTA bus service;
  • Fireworks in Congress Park at midnight!

First Night Saratoga will be the highlight of your outgoing year!

Proceeds support the community arts programs at Saratoga Arts to help make the arts affordable and accessible to all.
