SARATOGA ARTS LAUNCHES NEW PROGRAM FOR MEMBER ARTISTS + BUSINESSES
art@work | an art rental program
Saratoga Arts is proud to introduce art@work; a fine-art rental program designed to support professional local artists and provide opportunities for exposure, exhibition, appreciation and acquisition of their original artworks within a professional business environment, outside of a gallery or museum. art@work aims to increase art awareness and improve connectivity within the professional community while increasing aesthetics in the workplace.
art@work provides businesses the opportunity to enhance the work environment with original fine art. Whether the artwork is in conference rooms, lobbies, hallways or executive offices, art can foster creative and innovative conversations. Fine art can create a welcoming environment and inspire those around it.
Are you an artist interested in participating in art@work? Are you a business interested in bringing fine art into the work place? art@work is designed to be a member benefit for Saratoga Arts’ member artists and businesses. All artists must submit a portfolio for review and be accepted into the program. If you are an artist, submit your portfolio and upon acceptance receive a one-year complimentary membership for the art@work program!

SARATOGA INSIDE - OUT: a juried exhibition
Juror: Mark Schaming, Director of Exhibitions & Programs at the New York State Museum
August 7 - September 25, 2010
Artwork Pick-Up: Monday, September 27th from 9AM-5PM
Saratoga Inside Out is a juried exhibition that encourages artists to
turn their views of Saratoga County "Inside-Out" by reinterpreting,
subverting or envisioning anew the icons, ideas, events or landscapes
of Saratoga that inspire their creativity.
Juror's Statement:
Saratoga:
Inside Out calls for artists to submit works made about the region and
to capture some essence of Saratoga County. The approaches and images
are as diverse as the number of artists included. There is clearly more
than one Saratoga.
While many works reflect the city’s
distinctive character, others are steeped in the recognizable hills,
fence lines, barns and roads that are signature elements of the more
rural areas nearby. More than a few icons of the region are evident and
many of the works include subtle passages that are quintessentially
Saratoga. While sometimes obvious, often the subtle essence of Saratoga
emerges in these works. Each deserves a very close look.
The
artists included in the exhibition fall into two categories: the
resident artists who live in the city or county, and the transient:
artists who spend some time in the area. It’s nearly impossible to tell
the difference at a glance. Saratoga has a deep resonance with artists
who choose to live here and make art, and provides great inspiration
for those who visit. Many of the images in the exhibition are not so
much observational as they are resonant of a place. Almost all the work
is the result of memory, re-imagining the people, places and icons of
the city and county. After seeing these works you’ll see Saratoga
differently as well.
The process to select works for exhibition
is both gratifying and humbling. In the end works are chosen to make an
exhibition as a whole, and so many great things are left behind.
Hopefully the works exhibited provide a broad glance at a place as rich
as the artists who imagine it.

exhibition in December. Prospectuses for these exhibitions are sent out
to our member artists as the exhibit date approaches . Non-member
artists may request a prospectus for these special exhibitions by
calling (518) 584-4132 or by downloading a form below. These two group
exhibitions are NOT part of the annual Gallery Review Process. You do
NOT have to submit images to be considered for the August or December
