The August issue of Sculptural Pursuit  magazine will be featuring a terracotta relief sculpture by artist and educator, Tom O’Brien.  Tom has been an artist for over 50 years and is currently teaching two classes here at The Arts Center, Drawing for Portrait Painting and Pastel Portraits.  A completed work by one of Tom’s students is featured on the cover of this season’s class brochure.

Sculptural Pursuit is “a sculpture magazine created by sculptors for sculptors and their collectors.”  You can find out more about the magazine at http://www.sculpturalpursuit.com/.

Adirondack Light
in the Member’s Hall Gallery at The Arts Center

Adirondack Light is an exhibition of work by photographers Rich Johnson, Ray Henrikson, Jerry Jerome and John Sullivan - students who participated in Lawrence White’s Adirondack Light Photography Workshop earlier this summer.  In addition to capturing beautiful photographs of the Adirondack Mountains on weekly photo shoots, the students also learned how to professionally prepare their photographs, including matting and framing, for the exhibition.

Here is a recent article about Lawrence White, his students and the Adirondack Light exhibition published by the Saratogian.
