Printing with a Gelli plate is an intriguing process that results in beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces with amazing colors, layers and textures. Learn the basic process of monotype printmaking and see how colors and shapes layer and interact. The class will experiment with a variety of acrylic paints, stencils, textures and mark-making tools on different types of papers and cloth. You will complete ready to frame prints and go home with a stash of unique papers to inspire future mixed-media works. Students will also have the opportunity to build a 3D geometric shape from their printed papers. A material fee of $10 is due to the instructor at the beginning of class. This fee covers all necessary materials and tools. Optional supplies for students to bring include stencils, stamps, or their own gelli plate.
