The late Mr. Rogers said, “there isn't anyone you couldn't love once you've heard their story.” Personal essays have the power to both help other people understand us and, perhaps more importantly, help us understand ourselves. Storytellers can also offer their stories as gifts to other people for entertainment, insight, emotional catharsis or inspiration. Think of the powerful movies, lectures or literature that have impacted you due to the careful deliberation of a great storyteller. In this class, the instructor will help students discover what stories they want to tell, why they want to tell them, and how to do so most effectively. This course is open to all skill levels, ages 15+. Student should bring a notebook, pen, and folder to each class.
