with Barbara Boughton
For thousands of years, people in northern climates have used the bounty of hardwood forests to sustain nearly every aspect of life - including creating art! Celebrating the gifts of the forest, eight-pointed, 3-dimensional stars are woven from maple and cherry woodsplint. In this workshop, students will create two seven-inch and one ten-inch ornament. These ornaments can be displayed together year round as “snowflakes” in winter or as a small constellation of stars in the summer. A $25 material fee due at the beginning of the class to the instructor will take care of all supplies needed to make your ornaments. Additional kits can be purchased from the instructor at the workshop for those who are interested.
