Please consider joining Saratoga Arts' Honorary Committee
This year we are honoring Marcia J. White with a Community Arts Leadership Award!
We're fortunate in the Saratoga region to enjoy a vibrant arts scene supported by inspirational leaders, advocates and stewards of the arts. In 2012, Saratoga Arts began honoring these pillars of the arts with the Community Arts Leadership Award at our annual benefit. Elaina Richardson, Ron and Michele Riggi, Stacie Mayette Barnes, Marie Glotzbach and Dee Sarno have been our esteemed honorees. In our 31st year we are pleased to add to this impressive group by recognizing the recently retired executive director of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Marcia White.
Marcia J. White assumed the position of President and Executive Director of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in March of 2005. With a strong leadership style developed during 20 years as a top-level political advisor and public relations strategist in the New York State Legislature, Ms. White ushered in a new era for SPAC characterized by a strengthened financial picture, historic capital improvements, a robust educational focus, and artistic excellence. Upon taking the helm at SPAC, one of Ms. White’s first priorities was generating new revenue, replacing years of fiscal deficits with 11 consecutive operating budget surpluses and over $20 million raised. Under her direction, SPAC pursued the highest standards for its programming while incorporating contemporary elements that make the classical performing arts more accessible for mainstream audiences. Ms. White retired as President and Executive Director of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center at the end of its historic 50th Anniversary season.
Given your strong support for community arts, we would like to invite you to join us as an Honorary Committee member for our Fall Soiree. By becoming one of the leaders for this event you'll not only be honoring Marcia; your support will help Saratoga Arts offer its dynamic and year-round arts programming and services. Saratoga Arts impacts more than 90,000 individuals annually through our exhibitions, art classes, art camp programs, professional development seminars for artists, First Night Saratoga, and our community arts grants.
Please join us on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, from 5:30 to 8:00pm at Longfellows in Saratoga Springs to honor and thank Marcia for all she has done to enhance the arts and communities in Saratoga Springs and beyond.
The evening will feature jazz by the Jeanine Ouderkirk Trio, light fare, a cash bar, and a silent auction including vacation packages and unique works of art. Kindly submit your honorary committee response by September 15, 2017 to ensure your name appears on our printed materials.
